CAREERS.GOV.KY is managed by the Portfolio of the Civil Service (PoCS) of the Cayman Islands Government (CIG). PoCS is the data controller as defined in the Data Protection Act (2021 Revision) for the CAREERS.GOV.KY

If you are applying for a specific job role POCS and the recruiting CIG entity (department or Ministry) will be joint data controllers, each controller is responsible for complying with all obligations controllers under the Data Protection Act (2021 Revision).

PoCS is committed to making sure your data is secure. This privacy notice explains how we use the personal data we collect when you use CAREERS.GOV.KY.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT

Personal Data is information that relates to a living individual who can be identified directly from the information or indirectly when put together with other information. It also includes any expression of opinion or indication of intentions in respect of an individual.

For the purposes of recruitment, PoCS / the CIG requires certain information to determine the suitability of potential candidates for the role(s) being applied for.

We use the personal data you supply in your user profile and application for the purposes of facilitating the recruitment process, including shortlisting, interviewing, selecting successful candidates and making employment offers.

WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR DATA

Your personal data will be stored securely and may only be accessed by authorised employees and other persons who act on our behalf. Specifically, the data we collect may be accessed by other government ministries and departments that are relevant to / involved in the recruitment activity in which you participated as joint data controllers; as part of the selection or hiring process. Your data is also visible to our technical teams, who act on our behalf, to manage and maintain CIG systems and databases, including the CAREERS.GOV.KY portal. Our technical teams must comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2021.

Where you are the preferred candidate, where appropriate and in accordance with the law we may share your personal data with third party service providers.

We will never rent, sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes or purposes other than those described in the paragraph immediately above.

We will share your data if we are required to do so by law - for example, if court ordered; however, we will make every effort to inform you before this happens and will only disclose the minimum amount of data required to fulfill the request.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We will only retain your personal data for as long as the law requires.

You can delete your account profile at any time. If you do delete your account profile, this data will be deleted from the system. If you do not log in to your account for a year, your account profile will be deleted. However, before deletion occurs, we will write to you to ask if you still wish to keep your account profile. If you indicate that your account profile should be deleted, or if we do not receive a reply from you, we will proceed with deleting your account profile.

If you become an employee your personal data will be retained for as long as the law requires.

Feedback data will be stored for two years. Access log data will be deleted after 120 days.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY PROTECTION

Unless explicitly stated or implied through the content on this site, our services are not intended for, or intentionally targeted at, children 16 years of age or younger. We do not knowingly collect or maintain data about anyone under the age of 16.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your personal data confidential and secure, in accordance with our internal policies and procedures regarding storage of, access to and disclosure of personal data. We may keep your personal data in our electronic systems, in the systems of our Data Processors, or in paper files. Systems and processes exist to prevent unauthorised access to, or disclosure of your data. We take all possible steps to protect the information we hold records about you (on paper and electronically) in a secure way, and we will only make them available to those who have a right to see them.
